For train workers in Japan it is. Before taking the floor, workers for Keihin Express Railway Co. in Tokyo sit in front of a computer and see if their smiles are genuine enough to pass the smile test.
A smile is worth 1,000 words.

According to Urban Dictionary, Word Up is an acknowledgement, approval, or indication of enthusiasm.
It’s an affirmation. A validation. A supportive yelp.

Lucky one

Excellent
Excellent is one of my favorite words. Has been ever since that movie Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure came out in the 1980’s. Remember that movie?
Bill and Ted’s motto, second only to “party on, dudes”, was “be excellent to each other.”
Really corny movie. Really great message.

My friend Kathleen owns Pacific Midwifery and Pacific Menopause, so it was no surprise to me when she sent me this photo of a license plate she’d snapped.
PMS 24/7. Wow.
I bet the driver of this car doesn’t have too many people cutting her off in traffic.
To the beach!
In a recent travel study, by far the #1 preferred destination across all age groups was the beach. If you google ‘ocean sounds’ you’ll find 17.9 million results.
Put these two stats together and you’ll find that if we’re not trying to get to the beach we’re listening to the sounds of it on our iPods.
Maybe it’s the cosmic call to home–the place where all life began. Or maybe it’s the tactile rush of sand in our toes, sun on our shoulders and the salty breeze on our faces. Whatever it is is, it has millions of us returning to the place where the sea meets the sand year after year.

One of my favorite Disney movies is Meet the Robinsons. And one of my favorite quotes comes from that movie:
Keep moving forward.
The brilliant young boy who is destined to invent time travel–among other fabulous things–gets discouraged and begins to believe his sometimes-working-sometimes-not inventions are worthless. He nearly gives up. Until he’s reminded of the motto he will later coin: Keep moving forward.
